Located in beautiful Marin County, this small, vibrant community celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. Belvedere, the Italian word for "beautiful view", is Marin's geographically smallest and most exclusive incorporated town. The island is approximately one mile long and less than one-half mile wide. The lagoon and causeways which separate the island of Belvedere from Tiburon are surrounded by beautiful homes and majestic views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, and Belvedere Lagoon. In addition to the historic San Francisco Yacht Club, the limited space of Belvedere is host to some of the most expensive homes in Marin.
